How to beat stress while preparing for CBSE board exams?
Preparation for board exams, when it comes into full swing causes a lot of stress which can be damaging for a lot of pf students preparing for CBSE board exams. Many students find it hard to overcome this stress. Every student goes through this kind of stress to a certain degree and it is pretty normal for students to go through it. However, you should not give in to the fear of the boards and keep your calm. Given below are some of the steps which students can follow to beat stress while preparing for CBSE board exams:
- Turn anxiety into motivation
Anxiety can be a lot of things, and it’s at its most destructive when high and most productive when channeled properly. To use anxiety for your advantage set realistic goals with proper study planning. Solve previous years’ question papers and sample papers to enhance and check your preparation. Keep taking mock tests to check on your strong points and the topics you need to work upon. Then, work upon the same and keep updating your goals.
- Respect your leisure time
Just remember that marks are not everything and you do need to take breaks and make the best out of your leisure time. Students preparing for their board examinations tend to neglect their leisure time. This takes a toll on their mental health and in turn, all of their preparation goes in vain. Students lose their retention power due to the immense mental pressure that is created by prolonged studies. Take short breaks while studying and take out time to do what you love such as swimming, cycling, playing instruments and so on. This will help refresh your mind and give it time to retain the information that it has been fed. Respect your leisure time, even on the holidays before boards because what we need to realize is that the human brain is not a machine and it does need constant breaks.
- Work upon your concentration skills
Due to the immense pressure exerted by the board examination preparation. Students often find it hard to concentrate. No matter how much of the content is still left to be studied, students should take breaks in regular intervals to prevent their concentration skills from depleting. Breaks which happen every 30 minutes can be beneficial for the student. Relax and rejuvenate in this time and help your brain to retain the information that it has been fed. Setting time-based targets and reward yourself with a break when that target has been met.
- Eat healthily
Like the saying goes “A healthy brain resides in a healthy body.” Well, it isn’t far from the truth. Students should refrain from eating junk food and should develop especially healthy food during their boards. Eating junk food can have remarkably bad effects on one’s concentration power, retention power and it may even disrupt sleeping patterns! Refrain from skipping breakfast and try to eat fruits and green vegetables during your preparation. Also, do not forget to avoid junk food.
