5 tips to increase your maths problem solving speed
MATHS…Now, this excellent subject remains a scary subject for most of the students, especially for the school goers. These school going students have a deep fear for this subject especially by the age of 11 or 12 when they attain classes 4 or 5.
Now here starts there tensions on this subject. It has been found that most of the students while solving any problem in Maths if they found any step difficult while proceeding towards the answer, then they leave that question in between and don’t give it a second try. Being extremely nervous, they try to move into the next sum. And in this process of solving questions, those students only attempt those questions which are easy and aren’t that eager to solve questions that are a bit tricky. This leads to getting lower marks, thereby lowering the interest in this exciting subject-Maths.
The following are some tips to increase your Maths solving speed. They are as follows:-
- Remain Calm:- Maths is not a rocket science subject. You have to be very confident in handling this subject. It is a very interesting subject and easy to solve only if you remain calm and read the questions carefully.
- Practice, Practice and Practice:-After you remain calm and read the questions carefully, you will find that you can solve the questions at the very first attempt. After you solve the question at the very first attempt, you will try to shift to the next question eagerly. Similarly, the process will keep going and you will find that within a few minutes you are able to solve several questions of the same pattern. And after some days, you will find that you will able to solve any questions of that pattern quickly and have become an expert in it. So the motto is practice, practice and only repeated practices.
- Try to practice Maths as soon as you wake up the next morning:- It has been found out that since our mind remains very calm as soon as we get up early morning, then retaining any new information becomes quite easier. So it is recommended for all types of students whether it is the average, weak or the excellent students to practice the toughest sums as soon as one wakes up in the morning. Since your mind will be in a relaxed mode, so you can solve all the toughest sums easily provided you know the appropriate methods for solving those.
- Revise those sums which you have found tough all throughout the day just before your bedtime:-Since before going towards bedtime, the mind starts to enter into its relaxed mode, so practicing anything at that moment helps in longer retention. So it is advisable to practice the tough sums at that moment.
- Proper Guidance:-This is useful for students who are weak in Maths. Proper guidance can be any mode – offline or online. Then through proper guidance, the students can develop interest, therefore increase accuracy and speed accordingly
